Transfer News: Man United Set To Shake Hands With This Big Team For Another Powerhouse Deal

According to Daily Mail, Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo has caught the attention of Bayer Leverkusen and they desire bringing him over to the Bundesliga next January transfer window. It was reported that in a bid to boost their Champions League ambitions, Leverkusen have decided adding more strength to their defense, which is what they want Rojo for.

Rojo arrived Manchester United from Sporting CP in a £16M deal when Louis Van Gaal was still United’s boss. In his debut campaign at the EPL, he made 22 appearances for Manchester United, and made 16 appearances in the subsequent season.

When Portuguese Jose Mourinho took over at Old Trafford, rumours had it that the Argentine international would be leaving for either Valencia or Southampton FC. And even when he stayed put at Old Trafford, it looks like he would occasionally be sidelined -considering his errors. But the 26-year old defender worked very hard to force his way into the team’s present first XI.

So presently, Bayer Leverkusen are showing interest in his services. Considering the fact that Leverkusen has successfully had transfer dealings with the red devils in the past -in the person of Javier Hernandez – it appears this deal for Rojo is bound to sail through.

Since United boss Jose Mourinho is reportedly looking out to sign new defenders in January, this might increase the chances of Rojo leaving the English team. Apart from wanting to recoup the £16M used to brought the defender to Old Trafford, the money derived could also be used to further the cause of bringing new talents to the team.

On the other hand, Mourinho may choose to keep him in his team since the player continue impressing everyone after a shaky start and keeps showing signs of the desire to get much better.
