The Ivorian international who arrived the Old Trafford from Villarreal at summer, recently returned from a long-term injury and missed the 2-0 win over West Brom last weekend after being stretched off in the victory against Crystal Palace three days earlier. Ahead of the game against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday, United manager Jose Mourinho has been speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference this afternoon. The Portuguese tactician confirmed a huge injury boost with the news that Chris Smalling is set to return to the squad after finally recovering from a troublesome broken toe which has held him off in recent weeks. Since United’s 4-0 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge back in October, Smalling has been on the sidelines. However, the defender is now back and is expected to feature in the West Brom game. Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is delighted to have Eric Bailly back to action. He expressed this to MUTV after the 1-1 draw to Everton at the 14th premier league clash this season. The talented defender got a knee injury against Chelsea at the end of October. It was projected that the center-back won't return to action until next January, after the African Cup of Nations, but the Ivorian surprisingly made a return to Manchester United's bench at the game against Everton.
