Spanish midfielder Cesc Fabregas was influential for his Chelsea side as they extended their lead at the top of the table to three points with a 3-1 win over Manchester City in a match that was described as the battle of the top two favourites as far as the English Premier League (EPL) is concerned however that has not stopped him from being linked with other clubs ahead of the January transfer window, which starts in the few weeks.
Fabregas had long been linked with a move away from the 2012 UEFA Champions League (UCL) winners after he found himself on the fringes of the first team under new club manager Antonio Conte with clubs like AC Milan, Arsenal and Inter Milan.
He got his chance at the weekend as a replacement for the injured Serbian star Nemanja Matic and he took it with both hands as he delivered a virtuoso performance highlighted by his long pass to striker Diego Costa in the build up to their equaliser at the Etihad Stadium.
It however remains to be seen whether Chelsea will be willing to let the former Arsenal and Barcelona man leave Stamford Bridge with performances like the one he had against Manchester City.
