With the January transfer window some few weeks away, VFL Wolfsburg and German forward Julian Draxler could be on his way out of his club after he was reportedly booed by fans of the former German Bundesliga champions when he came on as a substitute during his side’s league clash with capital club Hertha Berlin on Saturday.
Draxler, who is hugely admired by Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger and has been a target for the North London side for ages, clearly stated that he wanted to leave the Volkswagen Arena in the summer amidst the interest from the 2006 UEFA Champions League (UCL) finalists and is presently receiving a rough treatment from the VFL Wolfsburg fans as a result of his statement during the last transfer window.
The present development would be music to Wenger’s ears as he would potentially want the current impasse between the former Schalke 04 star and the fans to drive his possible transfer fee down.
Draxler, who made the move to VFL Wolfsburg in the summer of 2015 as a replacement for Manchester City forward Kevin de Bruyne, would likely be a welcomed addition for Arsenal if they get their man at the end of the day with the team presently challenging for honours in the EPL as well as the UCL.
