See why £18m-rated Chelsea outcast will be a great game-changer

Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger was unimpressed with Olivier Giroud’s goalscoring ratio and he cash-in on his signature by offloading him to Chelsea for a £18m in January.

The Frenchman’s first season at Stamford Bridge was good enough to convince Sarri to retain his service for this season despite his intense scrutiny of the squad he inherited from Antonio Conte.

The 32-year-old striker was preferred by Antonio Conte, who continually benched Alvaro Morata until the end of last season due to the Spaniard’s long-term goal drought.

However, this season has witnessed tremendous improvements in Morata’s game and confidence level as he now looks more like the player whom the Blues splash huge fee on his signature a year ago.

The former Real Madrid star has retained his place in the team and that definitely cast doubt over Giroud’s future under Maurizio Sarri.

Giroud now serves as second fiddle to Morata, he might be heading out of the West London club in January as he seeks regular game time.

Considering his Premier League’s experiences, many English clubs would definitely battle for his services once the transfer window reopens.

Wolverhampton Wanderers, who got promoted to the country’s top flight League this session, must make move for the 32-year-old player in January if they are willing to remain in the League by the end of the current campaign.

Though the Molineux Stadium outfits have had a less-impressive start to the current campaign, they are the only newly-promoted side capable of maintaining their Premier League status come May next year.

Despite some wonderful displays we’ve seen from their centre striker Raul Jimenez, Wolves manager Nuno Espírito Santo need to add the striker into his team by January.

Jimenez may have a very low converting ratio (three goals in 12 matches), his hold-up play and the manner with which he allows his teammates get involved in games are nothing short of wonders.

He definitely needs an experienced striker like Giroud who would convert the chances he created into goals — vice versa.

For strikers to remain in top and consistent form, there must be real competition in the team. This is why Wolves must target a move for Olivier Giroud as there is currently no intense competition for Raul Jimenez’s place in the team.

The Mexico international is very relax, knowing quite well that his closest competitor for the striking position is Leo Bonatini who didn’t look like Premier League’s material.

Having scored 76 Premier League goals for both Arsenal and Chelsea, the Frenchman will be a very useful player in Nuno’s mission to beat the drop by the close of the 2018-19 season
