Jurgen klopp was right anyway, this player is injury-prone

Eyebrows were raised by Liverpool fans when Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp surprisingly pulled out of the raise to sign Lyon playmaker Nabil Fekir in the summer.

The Reds were said to have agreed on a £53m deal for the Frenchman during the summer transfer window, however, Klopp shockingly blocked the deal from materializing.

When asked for the reason behind his unexpected decision, the German manager pointed at the player’s consistent injury worries.

The Reds supporters were furious with the manager’s decision, considering the fact that Adam Lallana wasn’t in great form, Emre Can was on his way to joining Serie A giants Juventus and RB Leipzig were uncertain to let go of Naby Keita.

The grieve they had towards Klopp got worsened as the player had great performances for his country during the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

He was lively throughout the tournament, helping the Les Blues to another World Cup glory as they thrashed Croatia 4-1.

Klopp’s decision has turned out to be the best one for the team as it appears the Reds are doing just fine without the midfielder.

Liverpool’s transition of play from the midfield to attack has been awesome and wonderful. The presence of James Milner and Nabi Keita at the middle of the pitch have helped Jurgen Klopp’s men created more goalscoring chances and equally made the defence look more strong and more reliable.

Apart from Liverpool’s bright start to the season, Fekir’s injury crises prove that Klopp made the right decision by cooling his interest in the Frenchman.

Since the start of this season, the Lyon star has encountered five different injury setbacks which has prevented him from reaching his full potential yet.

Fekir missed the first match of the season as a result of the knock he picked up while featuring for France at the World Cup competition.

He returned back to action in the second fixture of the season. After Series of games, the Frenchman was sidelined for one match due to an ankle injury in September.

In October, the star player was ruled out of action for three weeks due to another ankle injury.

He is presently with his national teammates as they prepare for Sunday’s UEFA Nation’s League clash. However, he was excused from training by Didier Deschamps who wasn’t upbeat about his fitness level.

Though the Fekir’s quality is never in doubt, Liverpool Faithfuls will glad they didn’t spend so much on one player whose fitness level cannot withstand the physical nature of the League
