Manchester United are set to receive a major transfer blow following reports that Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan.
The 28-year-old has been a subject of transfer interest from a couple of clubs in Europe due to his impressive displays in the middle of the park for the Serie A giants.
United boss Jose Mourinho is believed to have asked the club to do everything possible to lure Nainggolan to the Old Trafford this summer, with reports that the Red Devils are ready to offer the player huge wagebill to quit Roma this window.
However, the Italian club’s sporting director Monchi has dismissed reports that the Belgian midfielder is considering a move to the Old Trafford, by saying: ‘Yes [he will stay]. I think we’ve seen the last of the big departures from our club. Now it’s time to build a team, which will be supplemented with potential purchases in the transfer market.’
This comes following reports that Chelsea have changed their minds about allowing Nemanja Matic leave for Manchester United this summer due to the Red Devils signing of Romelu Lukaku.
Jose Mourinho will now have to turn to AS Monaco midfielder, Fabinho who happens to be the only option for United in the central midfield role this summer.
