Former Everton and Manchester United midfielder Phil Neville has offered some words of transfer advice to new Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri ahead of the winter transfer market scheduled to begin at the start of next month.
Phil Neville was speaking as a BBC Match of the Day pundit while he told Italian tactician Sarri what he must do to improve his team.
The Manchester United legend was Frank in his assessment of the striker’s situation at Chelsea as he stated that the form of talisman Eden Hazard in a false nine role is papering over the cracks and that the Blues have to sign a new striker in January.
He was reacting to the Blues’ 2-1 away victory over Watford on Boxing Day.
Eden Hazard started the game as a false nine and his quality proved to be the difference between both sides as he netted a brace either side of the halftime interval to hand Chelsea the three points thereby taking the Blues two points clear of rivals Arsenal in fifth position as the race for the top four hots up.
Chelsea strikers Olivier Giroud and Alvaro Morata didn’t play a part in the game.
Giroud was an unused substitute while Spanish striker Morata was not named in the squad.
