Joe Pereira
According to a new report released by popular sport outlet O Jogo, Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has asked the club’s management to bring back goalkeeper Joel Pereira from his loan spell at Belenenses- the information had been confirmed by Sport Witness’ sources too.
Belenenses are said to have already received an official document that want the loan to be cut short immediately. Therefore, Joel should be returning to England in just a few days.
Jose Mourinho believes that Pereira has now have quite enough experience from his loans, and it is now time for him to return back to Old Trafford to become the club’s third goalkeeper.
Goalkeeper Sam Johnstone who is currently United’s third goalkeeper is expected to leave the club this month on a loan deal which has been confirmed by the manager already.
This season, Pereira appeared 10 times for the Portuguese side, concedeing only nine goals in the encounters. And it is being rumoured that his performances at Belenenses has caught the attention of Benfica. Sport Witness however stated last week that the goalkeeper said he has no intention of making such a move.
Pereira arrived Old Trafford from Xamax in 2012 and has a contract with Manchester United which expires 2020.
