Mourinho: I’m Not Letting Zlatan Ibrahimovic Go, He Is Staying Here

English Premier League side Manchester United marked their fourth consecutive win in the Premier League when they trashed Sunderland on Boxing Day. The win also translated into their fifth consecutive win in all competitions. And of course, in-form striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic as usual played  a vital part once again.

Ibrahimovic scored the second goal for United in the second half, and was part of the other goals’ success to help the red devils earned all three points once more.

United boss Jose Mourinho persuaded the huge man from Ligue 1 side PSG and the Swede signed a one year deal with an option to extend the contract for another year.

Despite being 35, the striker is not showing any hint of dwindling soon as he seems to be getting better as the days goes by. So far this season, he has started 23 games for United and has scored 17 goals, provided 5 assists.

The Portuguese tactician is obviously glad to have Ibrahimovic around and has confirmed that he will be at Old Trafford next season.

After the victory against Sunderland, Mourinho said (Talksport).

“When such a guy (Zlatan) decides to come, I was completely clear that he would be ready and he is ready for more next season. He will be here again.”

And when he was asked if the one year extension in his contract has been agreed, Mourinho replied:

“Not yet, but it is activated in his brain and it is activated also in my decisions, the owners and the board’s, so no problem.”

Definitely, considering his very fine form and his usefulness to the team, Man United would hold onto him.
