Manchester United have rejected a bid from Tottenham Hotspur for Anthony Martial, sources say.

The French forward has been a subject of interest from a couple of clubs since last January transfer window, with reports that the player is open to a move away from the Old Trafford in search of better opportunities elsewhere.

Spurs have not had the best transfer window this summer, after failing to sign any player this summer while Kyle Walker joined Manchester City for 50 million pounds.

United boss Jose Mourinho is believed to be after a new face on the left flank which could see Martial fall further in the pecking order.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino is understood to be a longterm admirer of Martial’s abilities and will try to lure in the White Hart Lane this summer, according to reports in the French outlet RMC.

However, the report also claim that Manchester United have rejected Spurs’ approach for the winger despite not being able to guarantee him first teams options this season.

United were also pushed back in their efforts to sign Spurs midfielder Eric Dier who was tipped to replace Michael Carrick in the midfield but the Red Devils ended up signing Nemanja Matic instead.
