Liverpool To hijack United’s bid for in-demand forward

Manchester United are heavily linked with a winter move for PSV striker Steven Bergwijn and the Red Devils are said to be in talks with the Eredivisie side for his signature.

The Red Devils have been hunting for the 18-goal hero since the summer as Mourinho wanted to improve his attacking department before the start of the season.

The Portuguese manager failed to capture his signature due to lack of financial support from Ed Woodward.

Having seen the huge transformation made by Solskjaer, the Old Trafford hierarchy are reportedly willing to spend big on Bergwijn in order to upgrade the team for the rest of the season.

Unfortunately for Solskjaer and his employers, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has developed interests in the player and he could make an official bid for his service in coming weeks.

The Reds are in fine and free-scoring form but Klopp is keen on bolstering his team for the rest of the season.

The German is impressed with the Dutchman’s ability to score goals and he believes his addition will further improve his team’s attacking threat.

According to the Mirror, Klopp is desperate to beat Old Trafford to Steven Bergwijn’s services before the end of the month.

With Lovren, Van Dijk and Wijnaldum, Klopp has a great chance of signing the attacker as he will count on his players to convince Bergwijn to join the Merseyside club.

The £27m-rated striker has scored 18 League goals far this season and he’s one of the best players in the Eredivisie.

Though it appears there’s no need to add another attacker to his team, Klopp is very keen on his signature and he can’t afford to lose him to United.
