Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has stated that he is on the look out for attacking options as he prioritises what he wants to do ahead of the January transfer window scheduled to open on the 1st of January, 2017.
Despite the well publicized malaise being suffered by his leaky defence, Klopp hinted that he wants to reinforce his attacking options rather than solve his team’s defensive woes.
Speaking on the winter transfer window that is due to open in the next few weeks, Jurgen Klopp said: “The winter transfer market is the most difficult. We are always looking.”
“If you watch our bench, very experienced in defence and not offence. If the situation stays like this it is clear we have open eyes.” the former Mainz 05 and Borussia Dortmund boss further added.
Liverpool would likely be thin when it comes to their forward line in January with summer signing Sadio Mane expected to leave for the 2017 African Cup Of Nations (AFCON) in Gabon with the Teranga Lions of Senegal in addition to the fact that attacking talent and star man Philippe Coutinho has been ruled out till the New Year while another attacking option Danny Ings is out for the rest of the season after he sustained a serious knee injury again.
