Kepa Redemption: Chelsea Goalkeeper Thrilled With Contribution To Penalty Shootout Win

Chelsea shot-stopper Kepa Arrizabalaga has expressed his delight after he played a big part in the penalty shootout win over German club Eintracht Frankfurt.

After his penalty heroics, the Spanish international goalkeeper told BT Sports reporters about his delight at the outcome of the result against the Germans.

The new development is a personal redemption for Kepa Arrizabalaga who refused to be substituted during the Carabao Cup final against Premier League champions Manchester City.

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri wanted to bring on penalty specialist Willy Caballero for Kepa during extra time during the game which ended in a goalless draw.

Kepa stayed on the pitch for the rest of extra time and was in goal for the penalty shootout which the Blues lost 5-4 to Manchester City who retained their Carabao Cup title.

The former Athletic Bilbao star turned hero on Thursday night after he saved two penalties from Eintracht Frankfurt players Hinteregger and Goncalo Pacienca during the penalty shootout to give Chelsea a 4-3 win.

Both sides played 1-1 in the first leg in Frankfurt and the second leg in London to take the game to extra time and penalties before Chelsea could see off their German opponents for a Europa League final spot with Premier League rivals Arsenal.
