Juventus are considering a €20 million swoop for Paris Saint Germain midfielder Blaise Matuidi, according to reports.
The French midfield maestro has been a subject of transfer speculation in recent weeks, with reports that PSG will consider offers for the player who might have past his prime at the club.
But a host of clubs in Europe are believed to circling over his signature this summer with suggestions that Manchester United have also shown interest in nabbing him from the French capital this window.
The 30-year-old, known for his tough tackling and midfield coordinating skills, has been tipped to continue to succeed at the highest level despite Unai Emery’s preference for other stars.
Matuidi was close to a move to Juventus last summer which eventually broke down but his agent Mino Raiola who oversaw the transfers of several players to Manchester United in the past 12 months, could help the Red Devils get the midfielder ahead of other interested clubs.
However, reports in Calciomercato claim that Juventus have move ahead of United in the pursuit of Matuidi and have made a €20 million offer for the player.
Paris Saint Germain is believed to be holding out for a fee in the region of €30 million but could settle for a fee less.
Jose Mourinho is understood to be angling for a new central midfielder to help bolster his side’s midfield options ahead of next season and a move for Matuidi could be a step in the right direction for the Red Devils.
