Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed that Reds midfielder Jordan Henderson had the most difficult job in the last 500 years of football after he replaced Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard as club skipper.
Klopp praised Henderson after he came off the bench to produce a match-winning display against the Saints on Friday night.
The German tactician lauded the England international on how he has been able to replace Reds legend Steven Gerrard as club skipper as he pointed out that Jordan Henderson has done well in the difficult task of following in the footsteps of the current Rangers manager.
Jordan Henderson was part of the last Liverpool team to challenge for the Premier League title alongside Steven Gerrard during the 2014/15 season.
The Reds’ botched the title challenge that season anis remembered for the slip from Steven Gerrard during the home game against Chelsea (0-2 defeat).
Henderson took the captain’s armband a season later after Gerrard retired from football and he has not looked back since in that role.
