Ahead of the Manchester City Vs Liverpool clash this weekend, there are doubts that City star player Vincent Kompany will play for his side in the game at Etihad due to injuries.

Last season, Kompany made only 15 appearances in all competitions for the citizens due to his struggles with injuries.

He appeared to have bounced back this new term, starting all three of Man City’s opening Premier League games.

The 31-year-old has consistently struggled with calf issues over the last three campaigns and he sat out of City’s training session yesterday after picking up a knock while playing for Belgium recently.

It was said that City’s medical staff are hopeful the captain will be fit to feature in the Liverpool game this weekend, but are however wary of rushing him back too quickly.

If the experienced centre-back is unavailable to face Jurgen Klopp’s side, John Stones is likely to replace him in the starting XI.

Liverpool currently have one of the hottest front in the premier league who have been scoring lots of goals to help them sit on the second spot of the league table.

The likes of Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino are firing the goals, and Philippe Coutinho is expected to be available for the clash.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola will need his best players on the field to stop Jurgen Klopp’s side from disgracing him at Etihad on Saturday.
