According to reports, English premier league champions Chelsea are interested in Bayer Leverkusen star player Atakan Akkaynak.
Popular sport outlet Goal.com made it known that the Stamford Bridge club are keeping tabs on the player and are monitoring his progress as they plan a potential swoop in the nearest future.
The summer transfer window closed last month, and the English champions were able to land two more players on deadline day.
After weeks of being linked with English midfielder Danny Drinkwater, Chelsea were finally able to persuade Leicester City to let the player complete a move to Stamford Bridge, and now former Torino full-back Davide Zappacosta.
Goal also added that Chelsea are not the only big club interested in Akkaynak, but the duo of Barcelona and AS Roma are also monitoring the midfielder and could rival Antonio Conte’s side to the player’s signature in the future if they did decide to make a move.
Atakan has already captained the German team at youth level and is regarded as one of the most promising youngsters the country have got at the moment.
However, the talented player is yet to make an appearance for his current side’s first-team and could be lured into other clubs with the promise of game-time at senior level.
