Manchester United will be set to clash with FC Basel for their next Champions League game, but the trio of Phil Jones, Eric Bailly and Michael Carrick were not part of the party that participated in the final training session before the side made the trip to Switzerland.
The Old Trafford club need just a draw on Wednesday to secure top spot in their Champions League group.
The duo of Phil Jones and Eric Bailly missed the premier league game against Newcastle United on Saturday, and it appears the pair won’t feature in the Champions League game too.
The red devils are yet to give more details to Eric’s injury, but Jose made it known last week that Phil was given six pain-killing injections just to play in England’s friendly game against Germany two weeks back.
The Englishman was forced off in the first half of the game which ended in a goalless draw at the Wembley Stadium, and he’s currently out of action with thigh issues.
Veteran midfielder Michael Carrick remains sidelined and has played just one game in the League Cup this term. The skipper is expected to hang his boot at the end of this season.
However, the duo of Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic took part in training after both returned to first-team action last weekend.
