Former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba has revealed that he told Mikel Obi to leave Chelsea in favour of a switch to Olympique Marseille.
Drogba joined Chelsea from the Ligue 1 side in 2004 and went on to become of a legend at the Stamford Bridge as a result of his multiple title-winning feats for the club.
However, the Blues hero has now warned Super Eagles Skipper, Mikel Obi about leaving the club to join his former club in France.
” Mikel will find relevance at Marseille, I told him how well I was treated during my time there and above all it will help him stay close to his family”, Drogba allegedly told RAC1.
” Marseille are not doing badly this season and Mikel’s experience will come in handy in helping them finish the season on a high”.
Mikel has not had the best of times under Antonio Conte who has refused to feature him in any competitive game this season, despite claiming the 29-year-old has the right attitude to make the first team.
Super Eagles boss, Gernot Rohr had earlier claimed that the midfielder is ‘suffering’ under Conte because of his decision to lead Nigeria to the Rio Olympics and later advised him to move away in search of active football.
