Spanish star striker Diego Costa has been thrown into a mild state of confusion after Chelsea boss Antonio Conte asked him to leave the club this summer.
And while there are various clubs that have shown interest in him after he revealed the text message from Conte, it appears the talented forward is so serious about reuniting with his former Spanish club Atletico Madrid, despite being glaringly aware of the implications.
According to reports, the Spain international won’t mind sitting on the sidelines for four months in order to facilitate his return to the Madrid club.
Diego scored 20 goals in the English top flight last term to help Antonio Conte’s side win the Premier League title, but the Italian boss has asked him to move on this summer.
The former Juventus boss made it clear that Costa was no longer part of his plans at Stamford Bridge, and he is hoping Romelu Lukaku can be Chelsea’s new main man up front.
The Spaniard is now keen to clinch a move to Atletico, where he enjoyed four interesting years before moving to West London in 2014.
Atletico Madrid are still serving a transfer ban, therefore, new signings will be unable to play any competitive games until January.
However, Sky Sports are reporting that Costa won’t be considering the ban, but is ready to give up four months of football to make a move back to the La Liga.
