Premier League club Leicester City have registered their interest in AC Milan playmaker Hakan Calhanoglu according to Italian news portal Gazzetta dello Sport.
It was revealed that scouts from the club have watched the Turkish international player with the Foxes eyeing a summer move for him.
The 25-year-old is a onetime Chelsea target having been linked with the Blues before he left German Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen for AC Milan in the summer of 2017.
Hakan Calhanoglu has made 65 appearances for AC Milan in the Italian Serie A since his transfer from Germany two years ago.
Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers wants to build on a good start at the King Power Stadium by signing new players to push the Foxes’ quest for European football at the end of next season.
Rodgers had earlier left the opportunity to win the treble with Scottish champions Celtic for the third time in a row to take the managerial job at Leicester City.
He led the Foxes from the second half of the table to a ninth-place finish at the end of the Premier League campaign.
Brendan Rodgers wants to build on that ninth place finish by signing quality players like the aforementioned Calhanoglu.
