Antonio Conte has lashed out at Sergio Aguero for his horrific tackle on David Luiz last Saturday.

The Argentine striker was banned by the FA for his lunging tackle on the Blues defender during the encounter between Chelsea and Manchester city at the Etihad last Saturday.

Conte said: “This tackle was very bad. I watched the images and I was scared.

“This tackle was very dangerous for David Luiz.

“I have to check if he is able to play against West Brom on Sunday because it was very bad.

“It will be very important for him and for me to decide whether he is able to play.”

Both Manchester city and Chelsea have also been charged for failing to control their players as they got involved in the brawl which was as a result of the tackle while Fernandinho was also sanctioned for grabbing Cesc Fabregas by the neck.

Meanwhile, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has defended the actions of Sergio Aguero, claiming he is not an aggressive player, though admitting he must accept his ban by the FA.

“Sergio’s not an aggressive player,” Guardiola said, as reported by the Independent. “It’s two red cards, seven games, accept the punishment from the federation [Football Association].

The Argentine was earlier banned this season after being caught on video elbowing West Ham defender Winston Reid.
