Chelsea have been asked to shell out £12 million to Atalanta defender Andrea Conti for a potential move this month.
The 22-year-old has been monitored by the Blues for quite a while and could move for him but will have rival La Liga side, Sevilla for his signature.
Reports in Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport claim that the Blues will have to pay £12 million to sign Conti despite interest from Sevilla.
However, Atalanta is believed to be considering offering the defender a new contract with a big buyout clause to fend off suitors.
The Blues could launch a bid for Conti before the end of the current transfer window as they continue to look for cover in the midfield to replace Mikel Obi and Oscar who left the Stamford Bridge for the Far East earlier month.
Conte has also identified Conti’s teammate, Franck Kessie as a transfer target but a deal may not materialise till next summer window.
Blues are currently at the summit of the Premier League with seven points clear and expected to win the title this season.
The January transfer window ends next window but Chelsea are expected to take action on their transfer targets before deadline to bolster their ranks for the second half of the season.
Conti has made 18 appearances for Atalanta, scoring two goals this season and Atalanta sit in the sixth position of the Serie A table with ten points off table toppers, Juventus.
