Chelsea are prepared to move for AC Milan goalkeeper Diego Lopez, according to reports.
The Blues are understood to be searching for potential replacement for Thibaut Courtois who has been linked with a Real Madrid move who are keen on bringing him to the Santiago Bernabeu as an alternative if they fail to sign Manchester United keeper, David De Gea.
Courtois had earlier admitted he might leave the Stamford Bridge during the last summer, with speculations that the Belgian shot-stopper has met with Real president Florentino Perez over a potential summer move.
Reports in Spanish outlet, AS claim that Chelsea will move for Diego Lopez who is on loan at AC Milan from Espanyol but maintains that the Serie A club are ready to make his loan deal permanent at the end of the season.
Lopez had earlier revealed Blues tried to sign during the last summer window, he told Sky Italia: “There was an opportunity last summer.
“I was very flattered by the manager’s interest. I don’t know if it will be maintained this summer.
Last year it was a priority option but now things have changed, and I don’t know what will happen.
“It’s one of the big clubs in Europe and it will probably win the Premier League.
“My idea has not changed at all and my intention is to continue at Espanyol.
“I hope it happens.”
