Everton have triggered a move for Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic in the January transfer window, according to reports.
The Serbian has not had the best of times under Antonio Conte after being dropped in the 3-4-3 formation in favour of Cesar Azpilicueta, David Luiz and Gary Cahill.
It is believed that Everton is open to the idea of the bringing Ivanovic to the Goodison Park as a potential replacement for Phil Jagielka who has fallen down the pecking order with the Toffees and could join Sunderland this month.
A host of Premier League clubs have also shown interest in signing the 32-year-old but Everton are keen on signing him in January window.
Ivanovic has only featured for the Blues in 15 games this season and could end his nine-year stay at the Stamford Bridge where he won two league titles, three FA Cups and the Champions League.
It is understood that Antonio Conte wants to bring defensive reinforcements to his current squad but the arrival of Nathan Ake after impressing on loan from Bournemouth which sparked suggestions the likes of John Terry could also leave the Stamford Bridge and there have been a quite number of interest from clubs in the Premier League.
