Former Manchester United midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger has called on Zlatan Ibrahimovic to move to the MLS following his nasty injury.
The lanky Swede has been ruled out for nine months after sustaining a knee injury during their Europa League clash against Anderlecht, ending his career at the Old Trafford.
Schweinsteiger who left United due to lack of playing time under Jose Mourinho joining Chicago Fire in American MLS.
The German has now claimed that the 35-year-old could join him in the United States, he said:“Definitely. Players like him are certainly very important in a league like MLS. He’s a professional sportsman and really gives you a lot of quality on the field.
“He may be [a bit eccentric] and sometimes I think he does it on purpose, but as a footballer, he’s really one of the best I’ve ever played with. He’s got a really, really good eye and that really impressed me.”
There are speculations that Jose Mourinho has told Zlatan Ibrahimovic that he is free to leave the club , thereby cancelling the offer of a one-year renewal due to his injury.
Manchester United teammate, Ander Herrera had earlier revealed that the 35-year-old gathered the squad to inform them of his knee injury.
