Chelsea boss Antonio Conte would be forced into tactical change after one of his vital players got injured in the FA Cup quarter final clash against Manchester United on Monday night.
Nigerian star player Victor Moses is believed to have picked up a calf problem in the Man United game.
As things stands now, the Wing-back is an injury doubt for his side’s trip to Stoke City for their next premier league game, after pulling up in the FA Cup victory over the red devils.
Moses, after having endured some tough times under previous managers, has eventually found his feet at the Stamford Bridge club under new Italian boss Antonio Conte this season.
The 26-year-old talented player has flourished in a new wing-back role which the former Juventus manager has introduced him to. He has played 26 games of Chelsea’s 27 Premier League games.
But unfortunately, the Evening Standard stated that the former Crystal Palace player sustained a calf problem in the 1-0 victory against Man United on Monday night.
Subsequently, the Nigeria international is in a race to regain his fitness before Saturday’s game at the Britannia Stadium, with former Italy coach Antonio Conte preparing to make a change to his defence.
Conte could choose to offer either of Kurt Zouma or Nathan Ake a rare start in the Premier League. Alternatively, the Italian boss could simply make former Barcelona player Pedro Rodriguez to adopt a deeper role.
One prominent factor which contributes to Chelsea’s impressive performances in every game is that the boss Conte keeps using the same starting XI in each game, devoid of injury. He will hope things continues that way.
