Manchester United VS Bournemouth : How will Solskjaer lineup in a 4-3-3 formation

Manchester United are on a two-match winning streak as they are yet to drop a single point since Solskjaer replaced José Mourinho two weeks ago.

They face Bournemouth at Old Trafford on Sunday and the interim manager will hope to continue his perfect start to life at the Theater of Dreams.

With the Cherries recent performances, the Red Devils shouldn’t have any difficulty picking up maximum points later tomorrow. However, it all depends on the list of players he would name in his starting XI.

So, let’s quickly give a list of players who are likely to start the all-important game against the Cherries later tomorrow.

GOALKEEPER

David De Gea

The Spaniard is back to his best after enduring a very difficult start to the season and he is set to retain his place ahead of Sergio Romero.

DEFENDERS

Victor Lindelof

The Swedish centre-back has been a changed player so far this season and he’s beginning to prove his worth to the Red Devils faithfuls. He will definitely be in Solskjaer’s lineup.

Phil Jones

The England international has formed a solid partnership with Lindelof at the heart of defence and both players have helped De Gea conceded just two goals under Solskjaer compared to the Mourinho’s last month at Old Trafford.

  • Huge selection headache for Solskjaer ahead of Bournemouth clash

Luke Shaw (left-back)

One of the bright stars during Mourinho’s last season at Old Trafford. He came under huge criticism from fans and the Portuguese manager before he finally got back the form he’s known for during his days at Southampton.

Diogo Dalot (Right-back)

The Portuguese retained his place in Solskjaer’s first XI against Huddersfield but was substituted in the 53rd minute.

He is likely to get another starting role in tomorrow’s game. Should he fail to impress, the caretaker manager won’t hesitate to drop him from his starting lineup in subsequent matches.

MIDFIELDERS

Nemanja Matic

The Serbian is set to start once again after scoring a rare goal against Huddersfield during the week. He will shoulder the responsibility of protecting the defenders alongside Ander Herrera.

Ander Herrera

The former Southampton star is enjoying life at Old Trafford and he is likely to start alongside Matic just as they did against Huddersfield on boxing day.

Paul Pogba

With Matic and Herrera covering up for him, the Frenchman is definitely set for another starting role as he would be tasked with the creative job at the middle of the pitch.

ATTACKERS

Anthony Martial

The Frenchman missed Wednesday’s game due to illness, he is now back to full fitness and he’s being tipped to return to the starting XI.

Marcus Rashford

Though he didn’t score against Huddersfield, the England international was a constant menace to Huddersfield’s defence. His display against the struggling side seems good enough to win him a place in the team’s lineup on Sunday.

Jesse Lingard

Lingard was one of the most regular players under Mourinho and he still remains an integral part of the team despite Mourinho’s contract termination.

He will retain his place in tomorrow’s clash at Old Trafford as the fans are counting on for goals.

Here is the how United could lineup in a 4-3-3 formation :

De Gea ; Shaw, Lindelof, Jones, Dalot ; Matic, Herrera, Pogba ; Martial, Rashford, Lingard.
