Arsenal boss Unai Emery remains delighted with the performance of his youngster, Matteo Guendouzi despite seeing a second yellow card that forced him out of the Carabao Cup game.
Arsenal played out a 2-1 win against Blackpool on Wednesday night with the new arrival being one of the best in the field but it did not end well as he got a second yellow card which reduced the team to 10 men.
Emery in his opinion said the player was only unlucky to have seen the second yellow card but affirms that the young lad must not change his approach towards games, especially as was displayed against Blackpool.
According to him, Guendouzi was one of the most competitive players in the game who plays with enough action and the right spirit to compete with the opponents.
The Spanish manager revealed that he had told Guendouzi to keep control in his approach during the halftime break but refuse to admit the player lost control to have earned the card.
He added that football always has a situation of red cards and injury which might arise and that is what has happened. Emery hinted that there are lots of options available to cover for the young lad in the next game.
No doubt, Guendouzi will be unavailable for selection in the game as he would serve a match before returning.
