According to new reports, Manchester United will make an attempts to sign Belgian star Romelu Lukaku from Everton after they have completed a transfer for Alvaro Morata.
Lukaku is said to have fallen off Mourinho’s radar in recent weeks with the Old Trafford club pursuit in Morata.
Real Madrid have reportedly rejected Man United’s first deal for Morata and Jose is thought to be engrossed in the pursuit of the Real Madrid center forward, ignoring Lukaku.
However, according to the Sun, the Portuguese boss has ordered Man United to push forward with a deal for the Belgium international as he prepares to make things right with the player.
It is understood that Romelu remains unhappy with Mourinho after he was sold by the Portuguese to Everton for £28million. Lukaku believes the former Real Madrid boss never gave him a fair chance at Stamford Bridge, and Mourinho really have to do a lot to convince the striker to reunite with him at Old Trafford.
Jose is keen to add serious power to his squad this summer ahead of a difficult campaign next season.
In the just concluded season, his side struggled strongly to find the back of the net and often relied on Zlatan Ibrahimovic alone to do the scoring.
Morata scored 15 goals in 26 games for Real Madrid while Lukaku scored 25 goals in 37 games for Everton.
