Zlatan Ibrahimovic Sends Message To Teammate After His Side’s EFL Cup Final Win.

Swede legend Zlatan Ibrahimovic has paid tribute to Spaniard star Ander Herrera after  Herrera supplied the perfect cross for the striker’s winner in a 3-2 win over Southampton in the EFL Cup final game on Sunday afternoon.

The huge striker continued his fine form for the Old Trafford club as he scored the opener for Jose Mourinho’s men in the 19th minute with a nicely-taken free-kick.

Afterwards, Jesse Lingard made it 2-0 with a splendid finish shortly after to put the red devils in control despite Southampton having started brightly.

However, Southampton’s star player Manolo Gabbiadini scored an equaliser on the stroke of half-time and then scored again straight after the break to level the score at 2-2.

However, Ibrahimovic came to the rescue and headed home Herrera’s inch-perfect cross in the 87th minute (with just 3 minutes to go) to win the final.

And the former Barcelona striker paid tribute to the Spaniard for supplying the assist for the winner.

The Swede told Sky Sports: “I got the opportunity and I scored it. It was a fantastic cross from Herrera.”

“This was a team effort, it’s not about an individual – it is collective.

“This is what I came for. I came to win, and I am winning. I just need to keep going, the more I win, the more satisfied I get.” the Veteran concluded.

Portuguese tactician Jose Mourinho is committed to pleasing his employers at Old Trafford in many dimensions.

Having successfully won the EFL Cup for the red devils in his first season as boss at the club, he looks forward to winning more trophies and getting a Champions League ticket for United.
