According to Sky Sports News football reporter Kaveh Solhekol, Premier League giants Arsenal are edging ever closer to a deal to land Borussia Dortmund star Sokratis Papastathopoulos.
Reinforcement expected at Arsenal
The North London outfit are looking to strengthen their team following a rather disappointing 2017-18 League campaign that culminated in a sixth-position finish under French tactician Arsene Wenger.
The French tactician stood down at the end of the season to leave the club on the hunt for a new head coach ahead of the new campaign.
Arsenal in search of a new manager
While the Gunners still haven’t appointed a new manager following Wenger’s departure, the club’s director of recruitment is working on possible summer signings.
Arsenal conceded 51 goals in 38 matches in England in the current season, while the club lost 11 matches and drew four times in 19 away matches.
The defender would be a good signing at Arsenal considering the inconsistent form of Calum Chambers and Shkodran Mustafi in the Arsenal defence.
Sky Sports News reporter Kaveh Solhekol said that the Gunners are edging ever closer to a deal for the defender in the summer window.
Arsenal lost 3-0 to champions Manchester City in the Carabao Cup back in the month of February.
