Manchester United seem to be frustrated at the moment over having a new goalkeeper after Spanish stopper David De Gea refused to extend his stay at the club.
The Red Devils have therefore triggered the clause in his deal which will allow him to remain at the club for an extra 12 months against his wish as he is bent on not working under manager Jose Mourinho anymore.
However, United will have no choice than to focus on their long-term target and Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford who is believed to be on the first queue in the list of goalkeepers who are interesting the club.
The likes of Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak and Real Madrid’s Keylor Navas have been linked but none of them stands the chance of emerging because of how difficult it would be for their clubs to release them.
Everton’s Jordan Pickford has been the most improved goalkeeper in the Premier League having pulled a number of saves this season following his move from Everton for a fee of £30 million.
The Red Devils are favoured to have the player more easily with reports that Jordan Pickford has already indicated interest in switching to Manchester.
Meanwhile, reports hint that United will still make use of the coming months to connive De Gea again.
