Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has stated that he is unhappy with the midfield of his former side as they are not living up to expectation.
The former United powerhouse says the reason for his dissatisfaction with the midfield of his former side is because they all lack the needed creativity to drive the team forward.
According to him, the crop of midfielders in the team lack the ability to link up with the attackers effectively, hinting that it has been the reason for lack of goals from the strikers.
Scholes added that the problem of the club was more glaring last weekend when they clashed with Crystal Palace in the Premier League with the game ending in a goalless draw.
Meanwhile, United spent a lot in the recruitment of midfielders with Brazilian international Fred, joining the club for a fee worth £52.5 million.
The United legend stated that the Brazilian has not lived up to expectation and has been outplayed by Belgium star Marouane Fellaini and Nemanja Matic but they also will not be in the position to make clear passes
Scholes, therefore, advised manager Jose Mourinho to do all it takes to correct the problem in the club or will risk losing out of the Champions League next season.
