French champions Paris Saint Germain (PSG) were keen on a summer transfer for Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante at the start of this season but the player turned down the big-money move in favour of staying at Stamford Bridge.
French media outlet Le 10 Sport have revealed the reason behind his decision.
It was said that Kante rejected the PSG transfer because he will only consider a transfer away from Chelsea for major European sides like Barcelona, Real Madrid and German champions Bayern Munich.
He was linked with PSG shortly after he helped France win the 2018 FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia via a 4-2 win over fellow Europeans Croatia.
N’Golo Kante is happy to stay at Chelsea after putting pen to paper on a new contract until 2023.
The 27-year-old signed a contract extension at Stamford Bridge in December to make him the Blues’ highest paid player at £290,000 on a weekly basis.
£100m-rated Kante joined Chelsea in a £32m deal in 2016 shortly after he played a big role in the unlikely Premier League title triumph for Leicester City.
The French midfielder won a second successive Premier League title in his first season as a Chelsea player under the guidance of former Blues boss Antonio Conte.
