Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has said that he doesn’t expect the club to spend big on players in the coming transfer windows.
Klopp further added that they have built a strong squad which has been affected by several injury problems, especially on the defensive front.
Liverpool have built a strong squad for coming seasons and don’t need to spend an outrageous amount of money on transfers as confirmed by the German tactician.
Klopp was reacting to the news that Liverpool made record-breaking profits in the new financial figures released on Friday despite the fact that the Reds spent big money on players like Virgil Van Dijk, Naby Keita, Fabinho and Alisson Becker.
The Reds broke their transfer record in January to sign Dutch international Van Dijk from fellow Premier League club Southampton for a fee believed to be around £75m.
That big money transfer made Van Dijk the most expensive defender till date.
Liverpool also spent a world-record fee for a goalkeeper on Brazilian international shot-stopper Alisson Becker who moved to Anfield from Italian club AS Roma for a £67m fee.
The record has since been broken by Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga who joined the Blues from La Liga side Athletic Bilbao in a £71m transfer at the start of the season.
