Why Klopp shouldn’t be concerned about this player’s proposed departure

Liverpool youngster Bobby Adekanye is reportedly attracting suitors from Italian League as the Dutchman craves for first-team action.

At 19, it is important that a player begins to get regular first-team action but that is not the case with the Barcelona academy product and he’s looking at the prospect of ending his three-year relationship with the Merseyside club.

According to Liverpool Echo, Serie A side Lazio are interested in the winger and they are willing to get his signature as free agent by the end of the season.

Losing Adekanye shouldn’t be a big deal to Jurgen Klopp nor the U23 handler Neil Critchley. This is because the player hasn’t really developed his game so far this season.

His goal-per-minute ratio is nothing to write about, while his assists record doesn’t wow the fans not to talk of the managers.

Having played nine games this season, the young winger has just one goal and two assists. His overall performance has left so much to be desired.

Though Adekanye is a very gifted player as we have seen glimpse of his brilliancy in previous seasons, the Dutch youth international is yet to reach his full potentials and he’s not showing any sign of getting better.

With quite a huge number of Liverpool youngsters who are on loan to various clubs in Europe and beyond, there is no reason holding on to a player who has already made up his mind to search for greener pasture in January.

I think it’s time to let go of Adekanye in January so as to give another youngster the chance to occupy his place in Reds Premier League 2(the U23) team.

Ben Woodburn is young striker with great potential, he could be recalled back from his loan spell at Sheffield United to replace the outgoing player.

As for Klopp, there are many options for the German tactician and he has no reason to stop the youngster from joining Lazio in January or in the summer transfer market.

There are so many players he could call on to feature for him, therefore, Adekanye’s departure is not one that will have any negative effect on Klopp’s mission to end his longtime wait for a silverware as Liverpool manager.

Adekanye joined the Reds from Barcelona’s La Masia academy in 2015 on a five-year deal and his contract is set to expire by the ends of the season.
