Why find Morata’s replacement when Giroud sits regularly on the bench

After another uninspiring and anonymous display from Alvaro Morata in Chelsea’s 3-1 defeat to Tottenham on Saturday, reports are claiming that Maurizio Sarri is back in the search for the player’s replacement.

Prior to the start of this season, there were rumours that the Spaniard could be on his way back to Santiago Bernabeu due to his inability score plenty goals during the previous season.

However, Sarri didn’t buy the idea of selling the striker as he revealed to reporters his plans for Morata at the course of this season.

Just as promised, the former Napoli manager pushed Olivier Giroud out of the starting XI so as to reinstall the former Bayern Munich star back into the first team.

Morata has been a regular starter for the Blues this season and has equally justified Sarri’s faith to some extent. In the first 10 games of the season, the 26-year-old striker scored five League goals and three assists.

His sudden goalscoring prowess wowed many Chelsea fans, who failed to remember the number of goals he scored in his first six games for the club last season before his lengthy goal drought.

Just as his first season at Stamford Bridge, Morata is running out of goals after failing to find the back of the net in seven Leagues matches.

His recent form has cast doubt over his future at Stamford Bridge as reports are suggesting that the Blues hierarchy are looking to cash-in on his signature irrespective of Sarri’s opinion.

To do so, the Blues are in the market for his replacement and have been linked with some top players including Bayern Munich’s Tim Wenger and Dortmund’s Dembele, but do they really need to buy a replacement when Giroud constantly begs for more game-time?

The Frenchman has found game time too hard to come by as Sarri has so much trust in Morata.

The former Arsenal man is a bit-part player who has had a huge impact in the games he’s featured in.

In Europa League clash against BATE three weeks ago, he came off the bench to score an all-important, 90-minute goal that put the Blues through to the knockout stages of the competition.

Irrespective of the minute he plays in a single game, the Frenchman always show zeal, enthusiasm and determination to help his team get better results.

At Wembley stadium against Tottenham on Saturday, the Frenchman brought spark and liveliness to the frontline which was quiet up until his introduction.

As much as it appears to be a mere consolation, his goal against the North London club is definitely sounding a warning to Morata — sit up and regain his form as soon as possible or you lose your place in the team — and a message to Sarri — don’t look elsewhere, I’m Morata’s perfect replacement.

With both players having almost the same playing pattern, it will be an easy task for Sarri to bring the Frenchman back into the team while Morata comes into the game from the bench.

I don't know if am the only one seeing this...the downfall of Conte began the day he bought Morata and decided to push out Costa and also pair Hazard and Willian instead of Hazard and Pedro as he did in his first season....if Sarri continues to do thesame thing in big matches...starting that fragile thing called Morata...then he 'Sarri should be ready for a sack....Sarri do something about this...and if their is someone close to him please help tell Him. I love my club so much...
