What a way to end 2018: How unstoppable United trash Bournemouth

After 11 unsuccessful months under Mourinho, Manchester United finally have reasons to smile at the end of 2018 as they thrashed Bournemouth 4-1 at Old Trafford yesterday.

The Red Devils have been in awesome form since Solskjaer came in as manager, though, it was just for a short period of time.

The team has recorded three wins from three games and they’ve scored an impressive 12 goals in the process.

The latest victory was against Bournemouth at Old Trafford in which Paul Pogba scored twice while Marcus Rashford and Romelu Lukaku both scored one goal apiece.

FIRST HALF

It took the home side just five minutes to open the scoring as Paul Pogba found the back of the net after an awesome neat footwork from Rashford.

With the goal, the Frenchman has now found the back of the net on three occasions in two games.

The early goal gave Solskjaer’s men more confidence and they became more adventurous in the Cherries half. They created more chances but couldn’t put the ball past Asmir Begovic who was busy throughout the encounter.

In the 33rd minute, United scored the second goal of the game. Pogba found his second of the night when he nodded home an eye-catching cross from Ander Herrera.

The Red Devils didn’t rest on their laurels as it was Marcus Rashford’s turn to find the back of the net.

The youngster, who has been in fine form since the Norwegian took over from Mourinho, put the game beyond the Cherries reach as he scored the third goal for United.

The England international skipped past Jordan Ibe and goalkeeper Begovic before hitting the ball into an empty net just before half time.

Manchester continue to dominate play but failed to keep a clean sheet once again as former Chelsea defender Nathan Ake pulled one back for the Cherries in first half stoppage time.

SECOND HALF

The Old Trafford outfits were awesome in the second half of the game and they scored another goal via substitute Romelu Lukaku in the 72nd minute.

Lukaku got a clever pass from in-form Paul Pogba before slotting the ball home to make it four goals for the Red Devils.
ERIC BAILLY’S NEEDLESS FOUL

Eric Bailly was given a straight red card by centre referee Lee Mason due to a rash tackle on Ryan Fraser in the 79th minute but that couldn’t stop the Red Devils from picking maximum points in front of their supporters.

It all ended 4-1 in favor of the home team but Solskjaer must find a lasting solution to his defensive setup as he is yet to record a clean sheet after three games
