Wengers Sends Warning Over Star Player Injury

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has raised concerns over forward Alexis Sanchez injury. Wenger revealed that he was informed that Sanchez suffered a hamstring injury instead of a low grade muscle tear in his calf that has been widely reported and Wenger feels that Chile are taking a risk with Sanchez which could hurt his career in the long run.

Chile have left Sanchez out of Thursday’s match against Colombia and are hoping he will be ready to play next week Tuesday in a world cup qualifier against Uruguay. Wenger believes that this could be too much for Sanchez and with a busy fixture list ahead for Arsene Wenger is worried the clubs could miss out on his services for a long time.

Speaking to beIN Sports Wenger said

“I got a text last night that he has a hamstring injury. The team from Chile has traveled without him and they kept him to try to get him fit to play Uruguay for the second game on Tuesday night. I believe that with a hamstring injury. We have to get access for our medical staff to the MRI scan to see what grade it is, how bad it is and make absolutely sure they don’t make any suicidal decision that could harm his future for two or three months.

“That is absolutely important. It’s a grey area between the national team and the club team and of course they look at their own results which I can understand but we have to preserve the health of Alexis Sanchez. He always wants to play and that’s where it is a more sensitive case because he’s always ready to play even when injured.”
