Reports had it that Carl Jenkinson is still set for a move to Crystal Palace if only they can agree personal terms, and Arsenal too are set to receive Seven Million Pounds for the player they signed for 956,000 pounds.
If things should go as stated in the report, then we can rightly say that this would represent yet another bit of great business from Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger. Before now, the fee mentioned in the media was just 3 million Pounds. So this new price will make lots of sense.
Jenkinson presently has 18 months left on his current Arsenal deal and his flaws have been brutally highlighted this season.
Despite needing a right-back due to Hector Bellerin and Mathieu Debuchy’s injury problems, manager Arsene Wenger turned to a centreback instead of Jenkinson. So to get close to 7 Million pounds for him is work of the highest quality.
Other rumours have it that Debuchy and Yaya Sanogo were both in France discussing their futures with other clubs.
Yaya Sanogo will become available for free this summer. He has been out with what was tagged a ‘secret’ injury, but was not even listed as injured on arsenal’s official website Arsenal.com.
