Arsenal legend, Martin Keown has claimed that former Arsenal boss, Arsene Wenger has his hands on the current success at the North London club under Unai Emery.
Wenger left the Emirates Stadium in the summer after 22 years reign but the Arsenal legend says his legacies still play a part in Emery’s successes.
Keown argues that Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang have both been key to the wins under the Spanish manager but they were brought to the club by the former French manager.
Wenger had signed Lacazette from Lyon with a fee of £47m and Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund for £56m and the duo have formed a partnership that has given the Gunners the spark in the attack.
The Arsenal legend said Emery would have struggled without the dou.
He noted that there were not too many chances created by both strikers in Sunday’s 2-0 win against Everton but their goals were the saving grace for the three points that was earned.
Keown praised the quality of the French striker, saying that he looks hungry for more goals.
Emery had earlier made a decision not to play both strikers in the first three games of the season but that has soon changed with both players scoring more goals with their partnership.
