According to reports, Arsenal will look to bring in another central defender and a central midfielder once they have completed a move for Sokratis Papastathopoulos.
Club Chiefs feel need to reinforce
The Evening Standard claims that the Gunners hierarchy feels the club need to strengthen their team with a centre-back and a midfielder despite edging closer to a summer swoop for Sokratis.
As per to the same report, Arsenal want to add further depth to their team with a centre-half to help Sokratis strengthen Unai Emery’s defensive line.
The Spanish tactician was confirmed as Frenchman Arsene Wenger’s successor earlier in the month following spells at Valencia, Spartak Koscow, La Liga side Sevilla and PSG.
The north London club struggled defensively in the recently concluded season under the former Monaco boss to miss out on a place in the UEFA Champions League for the second season running.
Reinforcement needed to close gap
The Gunners finished with 37 points behind eventually League champions Manchester City to show the ever-increasing gap between the two sides.
