United risks losing transfer target

The emerging report claims that Merseyside outfit Liverpool are ready to hijack a deal to secure the signature Italian Serie A outfit AS Roma central defender Kostas Manolas ahead of the coming summer transfer window.

Kostas Manolas has been on the radar of a number of top sides as he has impressed so far this season and has shown he has the quality to play at a big stage.

Man United were earlier tipped they would land the star player as they have a big need of central defenders but there are fears they might not land him anymore because of the interest from Liverpool.

Although, Liverpool have got a number of options in their defence and have been tipped to have one of the best in the department in entire Europe but they are still linked with the star player and could move in for him.

It is suggested that Kostas Manolas will form a good partnership with goalkeeper Alisson Becker as they were former teammates at the Serie A outfit.

However, former Southampton central defender Virgil Van Dijk has been credited for making the Liverpool defence stronger as he has made the best tackle and has helped with one of the highest clean sheets in the EPL.
