United in last minutes change of mind over £15m EPL star

English Premier League outfit Manchester United could have a last minute change of mind to move in for Tottenham central defender Toby Alderweireld after they were asked by Arsenal legend Paul Emerson to take the bold step.

The Red Devils have been in pursuit of Toby Alderweireld over time with their former manager Jose Mourinho making frantic effort in the last summer transfer window to land him but the deal failed to work through.

However, the Old Trafford side are now being told by former Gunners star that Tottenham will release Toby Alderweireld should a reasonable fee be tabled for his signature.

According to him, capturing Toby Alderweireld will weaken Tottenham, a development that will make it easier for United in the league.

Toby Alderweireld was available for the sum of £25 million in the last summer but that will no longer be because of his increased worth as a result of his performance.

The Arsenal legend says United are not a good side when it comes to their defence but stressed that it can be improved with the signature of Toby Alderweireld.

Meanwhile, the Red Devils are seeking for a top four finish so as to be able to secure qualification to next season’s Champions League.
