Manchester United have been asked not to let former Shakhtar Donetsk man Fred leave the club because he still has the ability to make it good at the club.
Fred has had a slow start at the Old Trafford and his former boss Paulo Fonseca says the player’s impact in Shakhtar Donetsk helped the club win back to back domestic doubles and was a major part of the team that reach the last 16 of the Champions League for two years.
The Brazilian midfielder had a £52 million ($68m) move to United this summer, but he has been inconsistent in the Jose Mourinho’s team within this first three months of this campaign.
Fonseca said he is not worried about the player’s performance and his lack of chances as he claims Fred has a lot to offer the team if giving the opportunity to do so.
The Portuguese boss told ESPN that his former midfielder needs time and patience to be able to showcase the talent he has got because he remains a developing player who will only bring out his best with more playing time.
Meanwhile, United are already considering sending the player on loan in the January window as they are not convinced he deserves a stay at the club.
