Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola was full of praise for rival team Liverpool in the wake of their Champions League semifinal first leg clash with Barcelona on Wednesday night.
Guardiola lauded two great teams Barcelona and Liverpool during his pre-match press conference on Friday ahead of the Citizens’ Premier League clash with Leicester City on Monday night.
According to him, the two teams were incredible and that he enjoyed watching the game which Barcelona won 3-0 courtesy a fantastic brace from Lionel Messi.
Pep Guardiola was formerly the manager of Barcelona whom he led to the Champions League title on two occasions (2009 and 2011) in addition to three Spanish La Liga titles.
His Manchester City team is in a big battle with Liverpool for the Premier League crown with the Citizens hoping to retain the title they won in record-breaking fashion last season.
The Citizens will win the Premier League title for a second straight season if they win their remaining two matches starting from the Leicester City game at the Etihad Stadium on Monday.
They can become only the third team to retain the title after both Manchester United and Chelsea.
Manchester City have a one-point lead over Liverpool as things stand on the Premier League table.
