Liverpool Defender Pulls Out Of England Squad

Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold has withdrawn from the England squad ahead of the Three Lions’ upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers against Czech Republic and Montenegro.

The 20-year-old has pulled out of the Three Lions squad because of a back injury.

The latest development means that England manager Gareth Southgate has 22 players at his disposal for the games against Czech Republic and Montenegro.

Trent Alexandre-Arnold is the fourth player to withdraw from the England squad after Ruben Loftus-Cheek (Chelsea), Fabian Delph and John Stones (Manchester City).

It remains to be seen whether Trent Alexandre -Arnold will be fit for the Reds’ next game which is at home to Tottenham Hotspur in their second Premier League meeting of the season.

Alexandre-Arnold has been in superb form for Liverpool this season in their quest to win the Premier League title for the first time.

He was on from start to finish as Liverpool beat Fulham 2-1 away from home to secure top spot on the Premier League table at the expense of holders Manchester City.

Liverpool have a two-point cushion over Manchester City at the top of the table though the Citizens have played a game less than their title rivals.

The Reds have seven league games left to play, while Manchester City have eight games to go.
