Latest report claimed that La Liga side Valencia are trying to sign United defender Marcos Rojo.
Rojo who has appeared 18 times for Manchester United in all competitions this season has, after a shaky start, transformed into a tough stone whom Jose Mourinho can now trust to safeguard the goalie.
Finally, it appears his nice performances is getting the attention of different teams, as it was reported last month that German side Bayer Leverkusen are eyeing him. Now, according to the Mirror, he has become a target for Valencia.
The Mirror revealed that Valencia sporting director Jesus Garcia Pitarch has been in England and has tried to persuade the Argentine’s representatives, and that Victor Lindelof’s expected arrival at Old Trafford made Valencia felt United would be more likely to sell off Rojo.
Nevertheless, we think the chances of Man United selling Rojo at this point is slim – considering the fact that he has played a major role in the team’s recent impressive games. Even if Mourinho should want to sell him, it would be at the end of this season, and not January.
However, Rojo himself might desire the move. Considering Lindelof’s arrival and the duo of Eric Bailly and Chris Smalling coming back from injury, he might end up being sidelined occasionally – something all players want to avoid.
Rojo became a United player under the tenure of Louis Van Gaal, and Valencia are willing to pay around £14m to land him in January..
